GBUK at MEDICA 2025

MEDICA, the trade fair for medical technology and healthcare, remains one of the most significant international events in the healthcare calendar.

This year’s congress in Düsseldorf once again brought together a wide mix of clinicians, manufacturers and distribution partners. Taking place in the Messe Düsseldorf exhibition grounds, the week-long meeting gave attendees the chance to experience medical innovations and new trends up close, as well as benefitting from networking opportunities, educational forums and conferences.

For GBUK, MEDICA is a regular fixture. The scale of the meeting and its global reach make it such a valuable place for our team, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the international landscape of medical devices, consumables and digital technologies.

Our new look on a global stage

This year marked the first presentation of our refreshed brand. Our newly designed stand created a clearer identity and provided more space for product demonstrations and meetings. Many visitors were seeing the updated look for the first time, and the layout encouraged steady conversation throughout the week. The larger stand also gave us space to present a broader selection of devices and highlight important additions to our portfolio.

An expanded product portfolio

A key focus for us this year was the introduction of our wound management range. This is a new area for GBUK and interest from visitors was consistent throughout the event. Alongside this, we also presented our continence care products, which represent another step in widening our offering across patient care.

Our stand also featured a selection of established product groups including:

  • Enteral feeding devices
  • Vascular access devices
  • Surgical and critical care products, including our NRFit® devices

Presenting this breadth of products in one place helped visitors understand the scope of our work and the support we can offer in a variety of treatment areas. Attendees enjoyed seeing such a wide range of solutions together, as it allowed conversations to move easily across different clinical needs.

Building international relationships

MEDICA is always a great opportunity to strengthen international relationships and remain connected to global conversations about standards and best practice. Our multilingual team played an essential role in supporting these interactions. Their ability to communicate clearly with visitors from a range of regions helped facilitate many discussions, and ensured that no detail was lost.

GBUK was part of the Medilink pavilion, bringing together UK manufacturers and healthcare companies. This provided a useful shared space, supporting the visibility of UK innovation and creating a natural point of contact for international visitors seeking information on new technologies, or potential partnerships with UK organisations.

A fitting end to 2025

Reflecting on the week, MEDICA once again proved to be a productive and worthwhile event.

“Medica has been a key event in GBUK’s calendar for a number of years,” said Cristina Romano, International Sales Director at GBUK. “It’s the perfect place for our international team to meet with global partners, and to see what is happening in a global forum. This year was particularly exciting, as we not only had our fantastic new brand, but also two new therapy areas to share. We had some great conversations over the week, and look forward to the coming months.”

We return with a clearer understanding of the needs of our partners, as well as ideas for further development across several parts of our portfolio. We look forward to continuing these discussions throughout next year and building on the momentum created in Düsseldorf!
