Commercial Business Manager

Help turn commercial strategy into action, performance and growth.

At GBUK, we’re growing and with that growth, comes an exciting opportunity to strengthen how we operate as a Group.

We’re looking for a Commercial Business Manager to join our Commercial team and work closely with our Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to help turn our commercial priorities into clear plans, accountable actions and measurable results.

It’s a role for someone who enjoys making things happen. Someone who can see the bigger picture, bring structure to complexity, build strong relationships and confidently challenge and influence senior stakeholders.

Why GBUK?

GBUK is a growing, values-led medical devices business with an ambitious future.

We supply innovative healthcare products across the UK and internationally, working closely with healthcare professionals and organisations to deliver solutions that make a difference.

We’re continuing to grow our portfolio, our markets and our teams, and this role will play an important part in helping us do that in a structured, connected and sustainable way.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across the Group, collaborate with senior leaders and play a visible role in shaping how our Commercial function operates and develops.

Our values are at the heart of how we work:

We Innovate.
We Deliver.
We Care.

If you’re commercially minded, highly organised and enjoy bringing people, plans and priorities together to make things happen, we’d love to hear from you.

You’ll help create and manage the commercial operating rhythm across GBUK, coordinating key forums, reviews, programmes and initiatives and ensuring there is a clear view of priorities, ownership, milestones, risks and actions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading programme management across our key commercial priorities, including strategic growth, commercial excellence, portfolio and supplier partnerships, and people and capability.
  • Coordinating our Commercial Performance Forum, Group Pipeline Reviews, Growth Squads and monthly business reviews, ensuring actions and decisions translate into delivery.
  • Supporting annual commercial planning and budgeting, alongside the preparation of Executive and Board-level materials.
  • Programme managing Divisional Growth Strategies, maintaining a Group-wide view of opportunities, initiatives, investment needs and progress.
  • Supporting enterprise growth and Key Account Management initiatives across NHS, private healthcare and international markets.
  • Working with Commercial Finance to strengthen pipeline, forecasting, CRM discipline, reporting and commercial insight.
  • Supporting commercial excellence initiatives across pricing, margin, tendering and Sales Force Effectiveness.
  • Coordinating strategic supplier partnership governance and cross-functional plans for portfolio growth, innovation and new product introductions.
  • Working in partnership with HR on our Commercial People Development Programme, including objectives, appraisals, development plans, career pathways and leadership development.
  • Supporting transformation activity and the integration of acquired businesses.
  • Coordinating internal commercial communications, including CCO Town Halls and key Group events.
  • Acting as a trusted partner to the CCO — helping prioritise, providing constructive challenge and keeping important initiatives on track.

We’re looking for someone with experience in commercial operations, business management, strategy, PMO or programme management, who is comfortable operating across a complex organisation and working with senior stakeholders.

You’ll need:

  • Strong programme, project and organisational skills.
  • Excellent written communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to influence and collaborate without relying on direct authority.
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical capability, including an understanding of sales performance, pipeline, CRM and forecasting.
  • Experience coordinating senior leadership forums, governance and cross-functional workstreams.
  • The ability to take competing priorities and turn them into clear, practical plans.
  • Confidence working with data and producing high-quality executive reporting and presentations.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • The discretion and judgement to work with confidential commercial, supplier and people information.

A degree or equivalent relevant experience is expected.

Experience within healthcare, medical devices or another regulated environment would be advantageous, as would experience across sales, business development, pricing, tendering, supplier partnerships, portfolio management, NPD or acquisition integration.

A project or programme management qualification such as PRINCE2, Agile or PMP would also be beneficial.
