Head of Pricing & Commercial Excellence
Shape the commercial strategy. Improve profitability. Build the function.
We’re looking for an exceptional Head of Pricing & Commercial Excellence to play a pivotal role in shaping how our Group wins, prices and delivers profitable business.
This is a high-impact, strategic role with a clear mandate: drive profitable growth, strengthen commercial decision-making and build best-in-class pricing, tender and commercial excellence capabilities across the Group.
Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer, you’ll operate at the heart of the business, working with senior leaders across our divisions and providing the insight, frameworks and challenge needed to improve revenue, margin and contract performance.
You’ll inherit responsibility for our Contracts & Tenders Manager, with the opportunity to build a broader Pricing, Commercial Excellence and Tender Management function as the capability develops.
Location: Head Office, Selby, North Yorkshire (Hybrid)

This is more than a pricing role. We’re looking for someone who can connect the numbers to the strategy.
- Pricing strategy & governance – developing pricing frameworks, policies, tools and approval mechanisms that enable smarter, faster and more consistent commercial decisions.
- Margin & profitability optimisation – identifying opportunities to improve customer, product, category, framework and contract profitability, and turning insight into measurable financial outcomes.
- Tender & bid management – owning the Group tender strategy across UK and international opportunities, including major NHS frameworks, strategic bids and complex commercial opportunities.
- Commercial intelligence – building the analytics, dashboards and market insight that allow the business to understand pricing, competitor positioning, cost movements and profitability in real time.
- Commercial governance & risk – creating robust processes and controls that protect margin, improve bid quality and ensure commercially sound decision-making.
- Executive insight – providing clear, compelling pricing, profitability, tender and commercial risk insight to the Commercial Performance Forum and Board.
- Commercial capability – acting as the Group centre of excellence for pricing, tenders, contracts and commercial performance, raising capability and embedding a stronger data-driven commercial culture.
- You’ll need to understand what drives profitability, challenge established thinking, spot commercial opportunities and translate complex data into decisions that senior leaders can act on.
- You’ll have the opportunity to develop future capabilities in price elasticity, revenue management, competitor intelligence and advanced commercial analytics, helping create a genuinely differentiated commercial function.
- Success will be visible in the numbers, from gross margin improvement and incremental profit delivered to stronger tender win rates, improved framework profitability and more effective margin recovery.
Why this opportunity?
This is an opportunity to build and shape a critical commercial capability at Group level, with genuine influence from day one.
You’ll have the visibility and mandate to challenge how we price, bid, manage contracts and measure profitability, and the opportunity to turn commercial excellence into a significant driver of future growth.
If you’re excited by the prospect of combining strategy, analytics, commercial leadership and transformation to make a measurable difference, we’d love to hear from you.
